History & overview of Chuck Landry Insurance

Chuck Landry Insurance was formed in the early 1980’s and was incorporated in 1983. Chuck started his career on the company side working for both Wausaw Insurance and Allstate insurance. He decided that becoming a broker was his future and made the decision to move from the company side and formed his own brokerage.

Timeline:
  • 1983: Chuck Landry Insurance was incorporated.
  • 2001 : Chuck turned over the majority of the management decisions to his son, Todd. Todd was able to secure new contracts with Intact, Dominion of Canada and Economical. Although the focus was personal lines and farm insurance we started to develop commercial business. By securing more companies, the business averaged a 20% growth spurt each year for the next 3 years.
  • 2005: Todd purchased the brokerage from Chuck along with the building we occupy.
  • 2007: Chuck Landry Insurance purchased Mellow Insurance, located in Bolton. The Bolton location was closed and merged with the Orangeville office.
  • 2008: Chuck Landry Insurance and Mellow Insurance were amalgamated forming Landry Mellow Insurance. This move doubled the volume of the brokerage.
  • 2009: Landry Mellow Insurance grew again by forming a partnership with James Washington Insurance. A second location was opened in Mississauga. Jim was an agent with Allstate insurance for 20 years and was looking for a new challenge opening his own brokerage. The focus at Jim Washington’s office is personal lines however they also offer life insurance allowing this to be offered through both companies.

Landry Mellow Insurance has seen much growth throughout the years and is continuing to grow each year. Our professional insurance brokers are knowledgeable on new product offerings and have strong relationships with our client base. The business has, and continues to have, strong ties to the Orangeville community and surrounding areas with a respected name, that has been earned with over 30 years of solid and reliable service.
